History

Founded in 1999, the Media Arts program provides students with a cutting-edge experience that prepares them for a future in film, television and emerging media.  Classes are held in the 2600 square foot Media Arts Lab which houses a live broadcast studio and digital post-production facilities.

Faculty

Michael Hernandez


Mr. Hernandez earned his MFA in film production from Loyola Marymount  and his BA in Communication from Santa Clara University.  He developed the Media Arts curriculum and has been teaching at Mira Costa since 1999. 


He is a member of several professional organizations and is an Apple Distinguished Educator.
